Kilbehenny woman launches first cook book
Elaine McGrath, originally from Kilbehenny, is launching her first cook book which she hopes will raise more than €10,000 for the ISPCC.
Elaine, who is currently living and working in Galway, created the book 'Eat West 2013' with her friend Maeve Hetherington and she will be showcasing and selling the book this weekend at the Model Mania show in Mitchelstown Business Park, while it will also be available in The Favourite for €10.
The book is made up of signature recipes and tips from a selection of producers and restaurants across Galway, Mayo and Clare.
The idea behind the book, is to bring the sights, smells and tastes of the West into your own kitchen, while also raising money for a very worthy charity.
"My personal goal is to raise over €10,000 for the ISPCC. We hope you can re-create and enjoy the best of what the West has to offer at home and in doing so, raise much needed funds for the ISPCC, a worthy children’s charity," Elaine said.
The ISPCC have more than 600 volunteers and they need to fundraise to cover over 80% of their costs and this year, they are celebrating 25 years of the Childline service in Ireland.
All profits from the sale of the book will go to them. The book will also be available online through www.eatwest2013.com and from selected retailers including The Favourite in Mitchelstown.
