LAUNCH PARTY FOR MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Mitchelstown Music Festival (Indie-Pendence) organisers, stunned earlier this year by the news that their budget was to be cut in half as a result of major sponsors Budweiser/Guinness pulling out, have, in the face of adversity, again come up trumps with a very strong programme.
The launch party for the 2008 Indie-Pendence Music Festival in Mitchelstown promises to be a lively affair at Spratt’s Bar on this Friday night, July 4. All are welcome. Everyone is invited for the event which kicks-off at 9pm and features audio and visual coverage of the main acts playing this year’s festival.
The INDIE-PENDENCE Festival will again take over Mitchelstown for the August bank holiday weekend allowing up and coming independent Irish acts to play alongside recognised headliners outside the usual indie cliques.
The natural amphitheatrical venue allows everyone from die-hard indie kids to sing-along music fans to enjoy the quality acts on show and all the facilities the town has to offer.
With the likes of The Blizzards and Cathy Davey already announced, the line-up for this year’s INDIE-PENDENCE Festival has become even stronger.
Additions to the programme include Tipperary songstress Gemma Hayes of Ballyporeen, Dublin rockers The Kinetiks, Cork’s Rulers Of The Planet and Hope Is Noise and Limerick’s We Should Be Dead, along with many more.
The line-up for Ireland’s only free independent music festival is now complete on the main stage but more additional gigs will be added in the coming weeks.
The complete main stage listing includes; Gemma Hayes, The Kinetiks, Rulers Of The Planet, We Should Be Dead, The Vital Spark, Cathy Davey, Fight Like Apes, The Chapters, Giveamanakick, The Aftermath, Vesta Varro, Dirty Epics, Travega, New Amusement, Supermodel Twins, The Blizzards, Ham Sandwich, The Flaws, The Laundry Shop, Alphastates, Hope Is Noise and Sweet Jane.
