MITCHELSTOWN AWAITS ARRIVAL OF SWINE FLU VACCINE
Still awaiting supplies of the swine flu vaccine, Dr Tom O’Callaghan of the Livinghealth Centre in Mitchelstown has called on all those in the high-risk groups to ensure that they avail of the jab when the supplies arrive early next week.
“Those people who are in the at risk group, which include people suffering from asthma and cystic fibrosis, heart, kidney or liver disease as well as diabetes and pregnant women, should make sure that they get the vaccine as soon as they can. All the doctors here at the Livinghealth Centre are signed up to dispense the swine flu vaccine and we will have supplies early next week,” Dr O’Callaghan told The Avondhu.
However, supplies of the vaccine are available now at the HSE Clinics that has been set up in the Mallow GAA complex and Our Lady’s Hospital, Boherclough St, Cashel both of which can be booked online at www.hse.ie/swineflu.
In Ballylanders Dr Una Ni Rathaille has received a small amount of the vaccine.
“I have started to dispense the vaccine to my patients here in Ballylanders and would advise all those in the high risk group to contact their GPs or the HSE and get the vaccine as soon as possible. I have seen a demand for the vaccine and have been busy with patients".
"However, I only received a small supply and I will be receiving more vaccine next week for my patients,” Dr Ni Rathaille told The Avondhu.
