MITCHELSTOWN PLAN UNVEILS VISION FOR THE FUTURE
A draft development plan for Mitchelstown, compiled by the Mitchelstown Forum in conjunction with Ballyhoura Development and the County Development Board, is now completed and an open public meeting has been called to let the community examine the results.
Explaining the concept to The Avondhu, Mitchelstown business development manager, Paul Swift, said, “There are four segments covering the economic, employment, health services and the social and community development of the town over the next few years.
"What we want to do now is to bring these four documents in their draft form back to the community and as such this is a great opportunity for groups and organisations in Mitchelstown to have a look at a vision for their town in the future.”
The development plan will be available at the post office, the library, at the Ballyhoura office and on the Mitchelstown website.
“There will also be copies available on the night for people to read. The plan has a lot of good ideas outlined for the community and it is imperative that representatives from all the community groups and organisations attend the meeting at The Firgrove Hotel.
“The plan is also a very achievable option for Mitchelstown. There are very good ideas and an appropriate timeline in place to work and develop this community. Anyone who has an interest in the future prosperity of Mitchelstown is invited to come along and take part,” Paul Swift concluded.
The public meeting is at The Firgrove Hotel at 8pm on Thursday next, January 28. Contact Paul Swift at 087-2723377 for further details if required.
