MITCHELSTOWN SPORTS COMPLEX PLAN HITS STORMY WATERS
Plans to develop a new sports complex on a green-field site in Mitchelstown have, it is reported this week, hit stormy waters.
A well informed source told The Avondhu that difficulties have arisen in relation to certain aspects of the plan and a possible financial shortfall of somewhere in the region of €200,000 in an overall budget of nearly €4m.
The source, who now appears to have serious doubts that the complex can be brought to fruition as planned, commented, “It seems as if some of the parties involved in discussions on the proposal may not be as fully committed to the project as was first indicated.”
