Man's body found in Funcheon River
The body of a 60-year-old man was found in the Funcheon River at Killee Bridge near Mitchelstown on Wednesday.
It is understood that a post mortem was being carried out on the body of the man who is believed to have been a farmer living in the area.
People living in the Corraghorm/Marshalstown area between Kildorrery and Mitchelstown have been rocked by his death and this will be a double blow for the family, as a nephew of the man died in tragic circumstances in May 2012.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.
