With the summer months on the way, there has never been a better time to get fit and John Moloney at CustomFITT in Mitchelstown is just the man to help you not only get fit but stay fit as well.
John who is originally from Ballylanders, Co Limerick is a NCEF and ACE qualified personal trainer and a NCEF Team Strength coach.
“We opened our first studio back in November 2010 at the Tesco Retail Park. However, the demand was so great that we have now opened a second studio and we are running 24 classes a week at the moment,” John told The Avondhu.
At CustomFITT John can tailor make classes to every level from beginner to the serious sports person.
“Our studios have the best of equipment to give our clients the best possible experience, and the best workout for their money. We are the first studio in Ireland to have the Real Ryder bikes. They ride like a real bike, tilting from side to side, integrating several muscle groups for a cohesive, total body workout that improves strength, stability and co-ordination, while increasing cardio capacity and burning 20% more calories than traditional stationary bikes,” John explained.
Other facilities at CustomFITT include Yoga classes, TRX Suspension Training, one-to-one personal training and for those who require more motivation, bootcamp training will be starting shortly.
“TRX Suspension Training is a revolutionary form of exercise that is being adopted by professional athletes and top trainers from around the world. It is a new form of training for people of all abilities, that allows you to leverage your own bodyweight and gravity to develop strength, balance, flexibility, and joint stability simultaneously.
"It is a series of high intensity, quick paced strength exercises that adds a key element of instability by using all bodyweight-based exercises,” John said.

“Our classes are small – 14 people max (spinning) and 10-12 for all other classes. We try to ensure that everyone feels the benefits and gets personal attention. Other various classes include beginners’ classes to Fat Furnace, to Power and Video Spin for those who want a really tough workout. Classes can also be tailor made, or customfitt, to meet client requirements. Classes cost €10 drop in or €50 for 6 classes,” John concluded.
