O'KEEFFE CALLS FOR FRAUD SQUAD INVESTIGATION AT DAIRYGOLD
Ned O’Keeffe TD is calling for the fraud squad to investigate what he calls the ‘disgraceful state’ of Dairygold.
“What has been going on in Dairygold is worse than Anglo-Irish or Irish Permanent. The company has been destroyed from the inside and now with the sale of the Breeo Foods brands to the Kerry Group Dairygold will just disappear,” the controversial TD told The Avondhu.
Speaking this week after the High Court cleared the way for the sale of Breeo Foods to the Kerry Group for €140m the Cork East TD spoke of his personal disappointment, “These brands have been Mitchelstown brands since the 1930s and now I can see a day when they will not be manufactured in Ireland never mind Mitchelstown.
"I would call on the farmers and shareholders in Dairygold to work together to ensure that no jobs are lost at the plant. I believe that the fraud squad should be called in to investigate the goings on at Dairygold and Reox Holding, and I challenge the Kerry Group to deny that there will be job losses in Mitchelstown,” Deputy O’Keeffe said.
