PUBLIC PATIENTS
In a statement from the Livinghealth Centre a spokesperson told The Avondhu that, ‘The Livinghealth Clinic is very appreciative of the recognition given on national television to Dr Tom O’Callaghan and the other five founding GPs of the Livinghealth Clinic. Since we opened in late 2008, we have, with the support of the Mitchelstown community, been constantly trying to enhance and expand the primary care services offered at the clinic’.
‘We are delighted that the HSE is now treating its public patients from the Livinghealth Clinic and we plan to support and work with the HSE in every way possible to expand the public services, such as radiology and hospital outreach clinics, that are available locally to the people of Mitchelstown.
In this regard, we were very proud recently to have received the National Healthcare Innovation Award for Primary Care Centre Initiatives.
PRIMARY CARE CONFERENCE
‘Another interesting first will be in November of this year when the Livinghealth Clinic will host Ireland’s debut national primary care centre conference which we see as being an important step in supporting reform in primary care in Ireland’.
Dr Tom O’Callaghan told The Avondhu that he was delighted to be mentioned: “Although I am delighted to be mentioned by name, the success of Livinghealth has always been about everyone working together, including our community, to a common purpose.
"This has not just been the GPs but all of the management team and administration and nursing staff and all of our partners who continue to evolve new and innovative healthcare services for our community at Livinghealth.”
