RACIST SLOGANS PAINTED ON MITCHELSTOWN HOUSE
Gardai in Mitchelstown are investigating and taking very seriously the alleged painting of racist slogans on a house in Stag Park.
One resident who did not wish to be identified contacted The Avondhu to express their disgust at the alleged vandalism of the home in the estate.
“When the people came out this morning they had to clean these slogans off their front wall. It’s a disgrace that anyone would do something like this to a person’s house,” the resident said this week.
It is understood that the house is occupied by a non-national family and that this is not the first time they have been subjected to this type of behaviour.
“We are investigating the reported incident and are taking the matter very seriously. I would call on anyone in the community with any information to contact the gardai. Any information will be treated in strictest confidence,” Sergeant Aiden Dunne told The Avondhu.
Information concerning the matter should be forwarded to the gardai in Mitchelstown at 025-84833.
