RAIN FAILS TO DAMPEN KINGSTON COLLEGE CELEBRATIONS
Inclement weather conditions did little to dispel the sense of occasion at the 250th anniversary celebrations in Kingston College, Mitchelstown this week, writes Nicola-Marie O’Riordan.
A plaque commemorating the anniversary was unveiled before a special service, which was led by Reverend Paul Colton, Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross.
The newly refurbished bells in the chapel tower and the weather vane on its roof were dedicated and a book entitled, ‘Kingston College Mitchelstown County Cork 1761 – 2011’ by Alicia St Ledger was launched at the event.
