REFURBISHED MITCHELSTOWN YOUTH CAFE BACK IN ACTION
The long awaited re opening of the Mitchelstown Youth Cafe is due to take place on this Saturday night following several weeks of closure as a result of the icy conditions back in January.
The youth cafe, which closed after pipes froze during the sub-zero temperatures, has been refurbished and is now ready for the young people of Mitchelstown once again.
"We are delighted to be reopening after the bad weather,” Ailbe Coleman of the youth committee told The Avondhu.
“We will have live music on Saturday from 5pm for 12 to 17 year olds and everyone is invited along. We used the time that we were closed to totally renovate the youth cafe and we are looking forward to being open once again. This weekend we will be open only on Saturday night and then the following weekend we will be open as normal,” Ailbe said.
“We would like to thank everybody for all their help and support over the past months and especially with our recent fundraising,” he concluded.
The Mitchelstown Youth Cafe will open on Friday, April 30 between 6pm and 10pm for 15 to 17 year olds and on Saturday, May 1 from 5pm to 9pm for 12 to 14 year olds.
