RESIDENTS TOO NERVOUS TO DRIVE DOWN THEIR OWN ROAD
A road in the Mitchelstown area has been ripped apart after the raging floods last week, as pipes were dislodged and ran downstream and an open drain left motorists facing massive potholes and a sheer drop to water, as they took their lives in their hands on the road home.
Nine families use the Corraghorm Road every day, and now say that it is almost impassable, and, while the county council put up barriers and cones as a temporary measure, the residents are calling for a permanent barrier to be put in place so that they can drive home without feeling anxious.
