ROW RAGES ON AS LEISURE GROUP OPTS FOR CANON’S FIELD
Representing the latest twist in a long running saga, Mitchelstown Leisure Group have this week taken a decision to proceed with its sports and leisure development at the canon’s field.
The project, which has already been granted planning permission, appeared to have been put on the back burner temporarily as discussions took place on an alternative sports complex proposal at Clonlough, Mitchelstown.
That particular proposal first saw the light of day in September of last year on foot of a suggestion from the Mitchelstown Forum and was later progressed by trustees of O’Connell Park with Tony Lewis to the forefront.
