SANTA HOPING FOR GOOD DAY AT THE OFFICE
All the hard work is about to pay off, as the new Santa headquarters in Mitchelstown is almost ready for the festive season. Santa’s new office this year is situated in the vacant shop premises next door to The Avondhu office at Lower Cork Street and, on Friday night, Mr Claus will be in residence for the ‘Toys for Tubs’ Christmas appeal.
Run in conjunction with the St Vincent de Paul and the Ryan Tubridy show on 2FM, ‘Toys for Tubs’ aims to ensure that no child is without a toy this Christmas morning.
All you have to do is bring along a gift to Santa’s office on Lower Cork Street and the teenagers from the Mitchelstown Youth Cafe will ensure that they are sent on to the families that need them this Christmas.
It couldn’t be easier to donate, just buy a toy: the toy must be new. You don’t have to wrap the toy the volunteers at ‘Toys for Tubs’ will do that. Then just drop your gifts into Santa’s office on Lower Cork Street, it’s that simple.
Santa himself will be on hand at the office to welcome the boys and girls and there will be a chance to get photos taken as well.
