Dublin Gallery Weekend
3 Days, 30 Galleries, 60 Events, One Weekend to Discover Great Art in Dublin Galleries
11, 12, 13 September 2015
Dublin Gallery Weekend is a new visual arts festival taking place in Dublin from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September 2015. Over one weekend, over 30 contemporary art galleries across the city will throw open their doors and invite visitors old and new to experience the fantastic art on offer in Dublin artgalleries. A series of special events, including exhibition openings, artist and curator talks, walking tours, late openings and workshops will take place over the weekend, and almost everything will be free of charge.
The wide range of events and exhibitions for all ages will be taking place across Dublin city in galleries such as IMMA, Nag Gallery, Science Gallery, Douglas Hyde, RHA, Project Arts Centre, NCAD and many more featuring a range of Irish and international artists. Walking tours will showcase the cultural delights of area such as Trinity, Parnell Square, Monto, The Coombe, St. Stephens Green and Temple Bar.

Lords of Strut Bring Raving New Show 'Contain-a-Rave' To Dublin’s Fringe

Having spent the summer touring Ireland, the UK, Europe and Canada, Lords of Strut are back with their innovative new show Contain-A-Rave, which will premiere at Dublin’s Fringe, 11 – 13 September.
With Contain-A-Rave, Lords of Strut invite you to “step into the psychedelic, in a shipping container, for 30 min of hard town groovin, sweat box, music fuelled, dead beat munch-up!”, where the duo have only one rule - “All ye have to do is dance!” The dress code is “Amazing!” From leg warmers and headbands, to lycra leggings and neon socks, as Sean-tastic says “If you look at a piece of clothing and think ‘That’s amazing!’, then that’s what you wear.”
Fame obsessed and socially impaired, Lords of Strut are Cian Kinsella and Cormac Mohally, playing the characters of Sean-tastic and Famous Seamus. This new show has evolved from the duo’s previous Flash Mob Raves, where they brought dance music to the streets using their mobile DJ sound system… pushed around in a trolley.
Lords of Strut started out as street performers, touring Europe, Australia and Canada extensively, culminating in winning the Street Performance World Championship in 2013. More recently they have just returned from Australia where their 2015 children’s show has sold out every performance to date and also won the BDO Children’s Event Award in Perth.
Contain-A-Rave premieres at Dublin’s Fringe, 11 – 13 September, in a soon to be announced location.
