The Tchaikovsky Perm State Ballet proudly presents Prokofiev’s ROMEO AND JULIET on Wednesday 18th – Thursday 19th November 2015, and Tchaikovsky’s SWAN LAKE on Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd November 2015 - at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, accompanied by The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.
Following a sold out 5 night run in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre last April with the opera MADAMA BUTTERFLY, starring Ireland’s International Star Soprano Celine Byrne; Ballet and Opera Ireland are delighted to welcome The Tchaikovsky Perm State Ballet back to Dublin. When last in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in 2013, their productions of ROMEO AND JULIET and THE NUTCRACKER received standing ovations on every night.

Choreographer Kenneth MacMillan’s poignant version of ROMEO AND JULIET is a twentieth century classic. A tragic tale of star-crossed lovers; Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy has never been interpreted better or more beautifully.
With Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score SWAN LAKE combines classical dancing, romantic themes, and wonderful sets and costumes to make it the world’s most popular ballet. One of the really great love stories reflecting the enduring confrontation of good versus evil. This really is an unrivalled version of a legendary classic.
